We all know how China fared in 2014. But how's 2015 shaping up? A first look at business sentiment suggests it's best to keep expectations low.
The MNI China Business Indicator fell this month to its lowest since October, falling to 53.7 in January from 56.2 in December. This is the first monthly drop in three months, though a figure above 50 still indicates optimism.
In December, the production and forward-looking new orders components had hit three and four year highs, respectively - but the impact of new infrastructure projects waned this month: both measures fell nearly 10 per cent.
