Didi Kuaidi
has raised $2bn in a new round of fundraising, giving China’s leading car-hailing company a war chest of more than $3.5bn to fend off a challenge from Uber.
The fundraising kicked off two weeks ago and valued Didi at close to $15bn, according to people familiar with the matter. It was completed just as market turmoil enveloped China — fortuitous for Didi and potentially complicating Uber’s efforts to match it, said analysts.
