Mail Online to share content with People’s Daily of China

One is the world’s biggest English language news website famous for celebrity gossip and staunch rightwing views. The other is the official mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist party.

MailOnline and The People’s Daily of China have agreed a content-sharing deal that the UK publisher hopes will help fuel its continued digital growth.

Martin Clarke, Mail Online’s publisher, said that the partnership, which allows both organisations to cherry pick each other’s content, was sensible given the UK’s official policy to foster closer trade and cultural ties with China.
