2016美国大选

Obama rallying cry to black voters as polls show Trump making gains

President Barack Obama warned yesterday that too few African Americans were turning out for early voting as Donald Trump gained on Hillary Clinton in both national and swing-state polls.

The black vote was “not as solid as it needs to be”, Mr Obama told a nationally syndicated radio show that is popular with African Americans as he sought to rally voters by telling them his legacy was on the line.

The plea came six days before the election as three of the four latest polls showed Mr Trump and Mrs Clinton neck and neck, suggesting that voters have become wary of the Democrat since her email scandal returned to the headlines. Mrs Clinton now has a lead of just 1.9 points in the average of recent polls compiled by RealClearPolitics, down from 7.1 points in mid-October.
