President Donald Trump has defended sharing intelligence with Russia following a bipartisan outcry over reports that he revealed highly sensitive information about a terrorist bomb plot to the Russian foreign minister during a White House meeting.
Mr Trump appeared to confirm yesterday that he revealed details related to Isis activity with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in a meeting last week.
“I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining . . . to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism,” Mr Trump tweeted.
