The Chinese government is stepping up efforts to deploy its deep pools of capital outside of state-controlled industries.
China Reform Holdings, a government-controlled group that manages a $30bn fund, plans to invest at least $2bn with Beijing-based private equity group JD Capital, two people familiar with the matter said.
The investments will come in several stages, starting with renminbi funds followed by US dollar investments for deployment overseas.
