Twenty Hong Kong protesters found guilty over Occupy protests

A court in Hong Kong has found 20 activists guilty for their part in the 2014 Occupy protests, including Joshua Wong who is now in jail, in another escalation of the crackdown against dissent in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory.

The group was found guilty of contempt of court for ignoring a clearance order for a protest camp in the Mong Kok during the 2014 Occupy movement. Sentencing will take place at a later date.

Joshua Wong and two other Hong Kong democracy activists were jailed in a separate case in August for six to eight months for storming a square in front of the main government offices in 2014.
