Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand’s prime minister, has announced she is pregnant with her first child, due in June.
Ms Ardern, 37, a former policy adviser to Tony Blair became one of her country’s youngest prime ministers and the third woman to lead a government there after the Labour party’s election victory last year.
The prime minister confirmed the news via her Facebook page, adding that partner Clarke Gayford will take up the mantle of stay-at-home dad:
