Larry Kudlow, a free trade advocate and tax cutter who relishes the media spotlight, is to be appointed by President Donald Trump as his new chief economic adviser.
Mr Kudlow, a CNBC commentator and long-time associate of Mr Trump, told the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday he had accepted the job as head of the White House National Economic Council.
He will replace Gary Cohn, the former Goldman Sachs president, who is stepping down after clashing with the president over his decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.
