Stocks linked to environmental protection in China jumped on Monday after President Xi Jinping reaffirmed the government’s battle against pollution.
Xinhua, the state-run news agency, quoted Mr Xi as saying China would push ecological advancement to a “new level”, limit waste and unnecessary consumption during a meeting on environmental protection on Sunday.
"We must bite the bullet and overcome them," Mr Xi said of the country’s challenges, Xinhua reported.
