President Donald Trump and his allies are heightening their criticism of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, amid increased speculation that Mr Trump may give an interview to the special counsel in the coming weeks.
In a series of tweets yesterday, Mr Trump repeated his accusation that the FBI had put an informant inside his 2016 presidential campaign — a reference to the revelation that the FBI, concerned about allegations of Russian meddling, used a confidential informant to talk to people on the Trump campaign about their dealings with Russia.
There is no evidence that the FBI had an informant inside Mr Trump’s campaign.
