Seoul floats idea of three-way summit

South Korean president Moon Jae-in is considering joining the on-off summit between US president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as Seoul, Washington and Pyongyang intensify efforts to resurrect the unprecedented meeting.

“We’re considering its possibility at a working level,” said an official at Seoul’s presidential Blue House, adding that it depended on the outcome of continued talks between the US and North Korea.

The idea of a three-way summit was proposed by the leaders of the two Koreas when they held their first meeting at the border village of Panmunjom last month. Mr Moon expressed hopes for such a meeting, after he unexpectedly held a second round of talks with Mr Kim at Panmunjom on Saturday.
