The Securities and Exchange Commission is probing Facebook’s public disclosures about its massive data leak to Cambridge Analytica, opening yet another front in the social network’s global regulatory battles.
The agency is scrutinising Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg’s testimony to US lawmakers as part of its investigation.
The SEC joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission, which are already examining Facebook over the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
