Korean leaders to hold third summit in September

The leaders of North and South Korea will meet between September 18 and 20 in a bid to propel denuclearisation efforts on the peninsula, officials in Seoul said on Thursday.

The three-day summit - the third between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un - comes amid growing concern that diplomacy between Pyongyang and Washington has hit an impasse. 

North Korea has insisted that the US issue a declaration ending the officially unfinished Korean war before denuclearisation talks can proceed - a concession the US has been unwilling to make.
