Go-Jek, the Indonesia ride-hailing unicorn, is seeking to raise at least $2bn its latest funding round, said two people familiar with the matter, giving it “a substantially higher valuation” than the $5bn-$6bn when it raised capital at the start of the year.
However, the company has yet to set the final target amount, reflecting the fact fundraising for young tech companies in south-east Asia involves multiple closings in response to market conditions and demand from investors, said one investor and board member.
That sentiment is in contrast to the relative caution many investors have taken on Chinese technology groups.
