North Korea strikes positive tone after talks with Pompeo

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un agreed to arrange a second summit with US President Donald Trump “as soon as possible” and said he was ready to allow international inspectors to the country’s key nuclear and missile testing sites, according to Mike Pompeo, US secretary of state.

The progress was made as the rogue nation’s leader held “productive and wonderful” talks on Sunday with the top US diplomat, according to North Korea’s official KCNA news agency.

“It is a long process,” Mr Pompeo told reporters in Seoul. “We made significant progress. We’ll continue to make significant progress.”
