The head of Alibaba’s video streaming service, Youku, is stepping down after a corruption probe.
Alibaba said in a statement on Tuesday that Yang Weidong, who has led the video streaming service for the past five years, had been arrested on Monday and was “under police investigation in China for alleged acceptance of improper payments”.
The company said Mr Yang “is understood to be assisting mainland authorities with an investigation into an alleged case of seeking economic benefits”.
