North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is in China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, state media revealed on Tuesday.
Mr Kim left Pyongyang on Monday and will remain in China until January 10, according to China’s state news agency Xinhua. KCNA, North Korea’s official news agency, also reported that Mr Kim was accompanied on the trip by his wife and other top officials.
South Korea’s official news agency Yonhap had earlier reported a North Korean train possibly carrying a senior official had crossed into China late on Monday.
