Israel’s attorney-general intends to indict Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister, on charges of bribery and fraud, a decision that imperils one of the country’s longest-serving leaders.
Weeks before crucial elections, Avichai Mandelblit, the attorney-general, said in a letter to the prime minister that he intended to seek his indictment for bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
The move stems from a series of overlapping police probes that revealed the cosiness of relationships Mr Netanyahu and his wife have with wealthy businessmen.
