Canada to re-examine safety approval for 737 Max range

Canada’s aviation regulator will re-examine its approval of Boeing’s troubled 737 Max aircraft for use in the country, its transport minister said, piling further pressure on the US aircraft manufacturer following two accidents in six months.

Marc Garneau told reporters on Monday he wanted to look again at how his country certified the jet, which was last week grounded across the world following a crash in Ethiopia which killed 157 people.

“We may not change anything but we think it’s a good idea to review that validation at this time,” Mr Garneau said.
