The US attorney-general hit out yesterday at “serious irregularities” at the jail where Jeffrey Epstein died while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking underage girls.
William Barr said he was “angry” that the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York had failed to keep Epstein alive. “We will get to the bottom of what happened and there will be accountability,” he said in Orleans.
Mr Barr made his comments as French ministers and campaigners demanded a domestic inquiry into the allegations surrounding the financier.
