Juventus aims to score in Asia in catch-up with rivals

Juventus is targeting sponsorship deals across Asia, as it looks to stoke interest in Italy’s  wealthiest football team to help it close the financial gap to Europe’s highest-earning clubs.

The Turin-based side acquired  Cristiano Ronaldo, considered one of the world’s best players, for a €100m fee last year. That superstar transfer was part of the club’s wider strategy to win the Champions League tournament following two defeats in the final in the past five seasons, attract supporters from around the world and raise the value of its corporate endorsement contracts.

Juventus executives have grown confident of securing new sponsorship deals despite accepting that Serie A, Italian football’s top division which it has won for eight consecutive years, is not as well followed in Asia as the Premier League and Spain’s La Liga.
