Boeing plans to temporarily suspend production of the 737 Max in January, as the company grapples with a lengthy regulatory review that has delayed the grounded jet’s return to the skies.
Boeing said it will provide financial information regarding the production halt when it releases quarterly earnings next month.
The company said the decision to suspend production “is least disruptive to maintaining long-term production system and supply chain health” and was “driven by a number of factors”, including uncertainty over the timing of the 737 Max’s return to service.
