Swilling red wine after a steak dinner on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, Volvo Cars chief executive Hakan Samuelsson was relaxed, happily fielding questions about the carmaker and its Chinese owner, Li Shufu, chairman of Geely.
Is Mr Li planning to create China’s answer to Volkswagen, he was asked.
“Oh no,” Mr Samuelsson said. “I think he has much higher ambitions.”
