The US National Institutes of Health has warned Covid-19 patients not to take a two-drug combination that Donald Trump has frequently touted as a possible treatment for people who have contracted the illness.
Experts convened by NIH said coronavirus patients should not use a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin due to possible “toxicities”, meaning the risk of serious side effects, including poisoning.
