Zurich, the insurer, has poached one of the top executives from China’s Ping An as it seeks to bolster its tech capabilities.
Ping An is one of the world’s biggest insurance companies, and has become known, and envied, for its tech prowess, launching products and services that are still on the drawing board at western insurers.
Ping An’s artificial-intelligence technology, for example, can use photos taken on mobile phones to assess the cost of repair for a damaged car.
