BMW denies it plans to sell Oxford Mini plant to China’s Great Wall

Group insists there are no plans to offload factory to Chinese carmaker despite report in German magazine

BMW has been forced to deny it plans to sell the Oxford Mini plant to Chinese carmaker Great Wall, after a German magazine reported that the move was being considered as part of a wider overhaul of the lossmaking brand.

But Germany’s Manager Magazin reported on Thursday that the carmaker was considering options for the Mini operations outside China — including folding the entire business into the joint venture with Great Wall.
