The European Commission will ban its staff from using TikTok, as western governments express safety and security concerns over the growing use of the Chinese-owned social media app.
Staff at the EU’s executive body were told on Thursday to uninstall the TikTok app from all corporate and personal devices that use commission apps as soon as possible.
From March 15, staff have been told that apps such as Skype for Business or the commission’s internal email would no longer be available on devices that continue to use TikTok.
