The Eurozone economy unexpectedly expanded by 0.1 per cent in the second quarter despite global trade tensions, according to a flash estimate released on Wednesday.
Analysts polled by Reuters had expected zero growth between April and June.
The figure came after German official statistics earlier in the day showed that the region’s biggest economy contracted by 0.1 per cent during the period.
