Donald Trump deploys National Guard in Washington over ‘safety emergency’

Mayor Muriel Bowser acknowledges crime ‘spike’ in 2023 but says there has been a sharp decline since

Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard in Washington and taken control of the city’s police force, in the latest display of presidential power in cities across the US.
