Should you lie to your kids about their Junior Isas?

Parents worry about their children getting access to a lump sum at an early age — some choose to keep it a secret

My parents are setting up a Junior Isa for the eight-year-old. He is not supposed to know about it, so I’ve decided to write about it in a national newspaper column. 

The plan is not just to keep him in the dark now, but to hide it from him even when he turns 18, when it’s legally his.

Initially, this felt like an extreme strategy. But after speaking to some financial advisers, I gather this is an approach frequently suggested by their clients.
