The Conservative’s party candidate in the most recent London mayoral race resigned from his official position on Tuesday following the leak of a photograph that suggested a breach of lockdown rules last Christmas.
Reports also suggested that a quiz hosted at Downing Street by Boris Johnson, UK prime minister, that allegedly broken Covid restrictions was a formal gathering, with allocated team names and a recommendation that participants exit Number 10 by the rear door.
Shaun Bailey, who stood in the capital’s mayoral election in May and came second to Labour’s Sadiq Khan, quit his role as chair of the police and crime committee on the London Assembly after the Daily Mirror published a photo showing him at a Christmas party on December 14 2020.
