The story
Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi Technology was founded in April 2010 by Lei Jun. Listed by Forbes as one of China’s wealthiest entrepreneurs, Mr Lei was already worth $1.7bn, having co-founded three successful technology start-ups since the late 1990s. His founding team at Xiaomi included former Chinese executives from Microsoft, Google and Motorola.
