Five of the best: Dim sum parlours in London

Phoenix Palace

Dim sum, a Cantonese invention, is Hong Kong’s greatest culinary export — and Phoenix Palace in Marylebone emulates the great, lavishly decorated dim sum palaces of the former British colony. Both service and dim sum are good too, and the tasty treats are usefully served until 4.45pm. The classic dishes such as har gau (steamed shrimp dumplings) and char siu bao (steamed buns filled with barbecued pork) are impeccable.
