Tesla stunned attendees at what was billed as an unveiling of its move into haulage trucking by revealing a revamped Roadster, which founder Elon Musk said would be the “fastest production car ever made, period”.
As the first car to go from 0-60mph (0-96kph) in under two seconds, the new Tesla Roadster will have a range of almost 1,000km when it goes into production in 2020, the group said.
Tesla’s new sports car is a throwback to its first vehicle, the Lotus-designed Roadster.
