Millennials seek to slake thirst for authenticity

When Ben Branson asked a waitress for a “mocktail” one sober Monday night, “she came back with this pink blend of juice,” said the 35-year-old, wincing. “I felt like an idiot. I thought — I can’t be the only person not drinking alcohol on a Monday who isn’t satisfied with a blend of fruit juices.”

Spurred by the pink juice experience, he came up with the idea for Seedlip, a non-alcoholic drink for grown-ups, inspired by a 17th-century herbal medicine book, The Art of Distillation.

Mr Branson’s father was a brand designer and his mother’s family have farmed for 300 years.
