China has revised down the growth of its 2017 gross domestic product to 6.8 per cent from the previously reported 6.9 per cent, days ahead of the release of economic growth figures for the last quarter 2018.
The National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement published on Friday that the economy had grown 6.8 per cent year-on-year in 2017, lowering the GDP value to Rmb82.07tn ($12.11tn), a reduction of Rmb636.7bn.
China will release fourth-quarter GDP on Monday, with economists polled by Reuters forecasting 6.4 per cent year-on-year growth.
