Tesla said on Monday that it was investigating a video that appears to show one of its electric vehicles exploding in a parking lot in Shanghai.
The video, circulating on Chinese social media, shows smoke emerging from beneath a white Tesla that is parked in a parking lot. The car then erupts into a bright flash of flames and continues to burn for several seconds.
The US electric carmaker said on its official Weibo account that it had dispatched a team to Shanghai to investigate the matter.
