A new report suggests people are not deserting Facebook to use other sites but combining use of the social network with one or two others.
Almost half of adults in the US who use the web used more than one social networking site this year, according to a report from the Pew Research Center .
Facebook dominates social networking, with 71 per cent of online adults using it, but people are more likely to combine sites than to rely on only one, Pew found. Of nearly 1,500 adults surveyed, 42 per cent used two or more, compared with 36 per cent who frequented only one, usually Facebook. Affluent men were heavy users of LinkedIn, while Pinterest was more popular with women.
