Goldman Sachs has named consumer bank chief Stephen Scherr as chief financial officer and investment banker John Waldron as president in a keenly awaited leadership revamp crafted by incoming chief executive David Solomon.
The scene for renewal across Goldman Sachs’ top ranks was set in July when the firm announced chief executive Lloyd Blankfein would step down at the end of September after leading the iconic Wall Street bank for 12 years.
On Thursday, the bank announced another round of changes, including the promotions of Mr Scherr and Mr Waldron. Marty Chavez, who has been CFO for just over a year, is moving to co-head of the securities division.
